We open with the fallout from the last issue with Power Girl and Huntress fighting alongside the cops to help put down the Gotham Crime Wave, on a pretty decent splash page. Indeed as muddy as the scans I have the art in this issue is really good, including lots of good pictures of Kara. We then get Helena taking down the final three goons, it's her comic after all, as they attempt to flee on the last train. We then get classic grumpy Power Girl as the GCPD, as always, act like they did all the hard work and our heroes just helped out. And to prove why the pair are just the best Helena calms Kara down, we even get a pretty subtle exposition dump about Sim wanting to ban supers in Gotham.

Talking of we then cut back to the said District Attorney who's meeting with the Thinker, this time in his office, as the villain tries to convince Simms to enact the supers ban. Being a classic villain he does it by causing the man increasing pain, up to a simulated heart attack. All this whilst our hero Helena and his PA are waiting in the waiting room, apparently torturing a DA doesn't create any sound at all. Though the Thinker can apparently make himself invisible and walk out without being noticed so I guess some mind whammy was involved.

Helena is at least observant enough to change back into Huntress to investigate what was going on, meeting back up with Power Girl. Just in time as well as poor Harry is about to jump, luckily Power Girl and Helena swing in just in time to catch the man. Only for him to say Helena's real name, proving to the heroes that he knows exactly who she is!

I've got to admit for such a short story I'm really enjoying it, the plot is rumbling along nicely and we get some good Kara and Helena interaction.

Countdown to Chaos Wonder Woman #293 Cover Date:  July 1982 Released:   8th April 1982 The first thing here to comment on is this is a Wonder Woman comic so it's her show, though all the other female heroes get something to do, more or less. We however start with our last female heroes to join the quest, Starfire, Wonder Girl and Raven from the Teen Titans. Raven has a major case of the premonitions so they fly off to Paradise Island to get some help from the Amazons. And like any good hero burning a message into a panel so the boys know where they have gone! The one thing that really strikes me looked back is just how tiny Starfires costumes is, more or less a sparkly bikini, especially the back which for some reason we see a lot in this issue. I've nothing against skimpy costumes now and again, but with almost everyone being more dressed and the cheesecake on how it's drawn it really stands out here.
