It all starts so well Kara and her cousin explore what looks like future Earth. They work as a team and begin to figure out whats is going on as they try to track down Vandal Savage in this futuristic city. She even suspects the weird bald man, because Supes doesn't deal with enough of those, of being suspect before they're trapped by Kryptonian draining device #52. Luckily Savage is intelligence but not experience so like any good superhero our two heroes just crash through the wall. Though the spheres are of Anti-matter from another dimension, something that won't be relevant until another ten years or so...

More or less straight after that Kara is zapped by the giant floating head of Vandal Savage and strapped to life draining machines part of his plan to regain his immortality. And that's more or less it for Power Girl in this issue so that all everyone...

Sigh, I guess I'll finish the story off for those that might actually be interested in the rest of the JSA. Whilst Superman fights Vandal Savage Flash realizes that there not on future Earth, but light-years from home, under the light of twin Green suns. Merlin free Carter, before being disintegrated by this Gort like robot that Vandal must have bought in bulk, who find the Star-Spangled Kid. They then find and help Supes and Kara, separately and Vandal escapes. And squeezed in the last few panels if another mind-control plot by the Injustice Society, because why not?

Not a terrible comic but not amazing either, I guess I just miss my poor Power Girl after such a strong start for her in the issue.

Countdown to Chaos Wonder Woman #293 Cover Date:  July 1982 Released:   8th April 1982 The first thing here to comment on is this is a Wonder Woman comic so it's her show, though all the other female heroes get something to do, more or less. We however start with our last female heroes to join the quest, Starfire, Wonder Girl and Raven from the Teen Titans. Raven has a major case of the premonitions so they fly off to Paradise Island to get some help from the Amazons. And like any good hero burning a message into a panel so the boys know where they have gone! The one thing that really strikes me looked back is just how tiny Starfires costumes is, more or less a sparkly bikini, especially the back which for some reason we see a lot in this issue. I've nothing against skimpy costumes now and again, but with almost everyone being more dressed and the cheesecake on how it's drawn it really stands out here.
