Helenaween #6 - Wonder Woman #272
Solomon Grundy, Appeared on Tuesday.
And yes, if I were more organised, this would have come out yesterday to be true to the poem!
Now revealed, we get a fight between Huntress and Grundy's goons, which goes pretty well, and Grundy's that goes less well!
He literally throws her around the room before knocking her out, luckily losing interest in her once down. Instead, he has a strange affection for a marble statue. That kind of thing was in the air in the 80s and 90s!
Despite the defeat, Helene goes into work, and here the art lets things down as she meant to look unwell but just looks her normal self. Though despite fighting Grundy, she not meant to have any bruises, just looking a little pale. Here, we also have two subplots moving along: her brushing off the DA and Carole stealing money from the company to pay a mysterious extortionist.
In her office, as well as a neat little trick shot, she figures out something upon seeing Winnie's signature. So it's back to apparently the one Forger in Gotham City! He comes through as she finds the hideout of Grundy and his gang, plus his statue.
Even though she uses smoke, the fight goes more or less like the first. With the goons going down pretty easily, Grundy quickly takes her out. One casualty, though, is the poor statue broken by Grundy when Helena tries to knock him out with tranquilising darts. To show how deep his Galatean love was, though, he does shed a single manly tear before knocking out Huntress!
Another middle issue that's just a run around with the story ending in the same place as the beginning. Instead of being locked up, though, it's a series of unconsciousness!
