Because All-Star was bi-monthly (e.g., every other month), only one comic came out in January in the 1970s with Power Girl in it, and it's a disappointing cameo!


The Wizard having decided that the Injustice Society fails because they have a loser mindset (very grindset bro of him) jumped to Earth-1 to join the aforementioned Secret Society of Supervillains. He even gets a natty new uniform to boot!

When the Symbioship Strikes Showcase #98 Cover Dated:  March 1978 Released:  15th December 1977 We start with another splash page of ugly Power Girl, one so bad she has a look of dull surprise at the attack by the reporters in the red Power Armour. It takes another few pages before we get the reveal that the armour is actually Power Girls Symbioship, something that I apparently missed any mention before this moments. The fight goes badly before Kara realises that she, and the cops that keep getting in trouble, can't beat the armour directing and instead uses a piece of metal to weigh down the armour to get the reporter out and shut the armour down. At this moment she actually says she learned it from Wildcat and thank him for such things, which is amazing seeing how often the two have ended up fighting in the past. She then leaves the Gotham taking the ship with her, and the reporter who grabs hold of her to get the whole story. It's also strange that in Showcase it shows...

It's the Final Countdown! (Again) - Wonder Woman #293

Countdown to Chaos Wonder Woman #293 Cover Date:  July 1982 Released:   8th April 1982 The first thing here to comment on is this is a Wonder Woman comic so it's her show, though all the other female heroes get something to do, more or less. We however start with our last female heroes to join the quest, Starfire, Wonder Girl and Raven from the Teen Titans. Raven has a major case of the premonitions so they fly off to Paradise Island to get some help from the Amazons. And like any good hero burning a message into a panel so the boys know where they have gone! The one thing that really strikes me looked back is just how tiny Starfires costumes is, more or less a sparkly bikini, especially the back which for some reason we see a lot in this issue. I've nothing against skimpy costumes now and again, but with almost everyone being more dressed and the cheesecake on how it's drawn it really stands out here.
